National Wreaths Across America Day

  • Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery 1800 Cabrillo Memorial Dr San Diego, CA, 92106 United States

This holiday offer a gift of remembrance to our fallen heroes and their families. Give your time and/or donate a wreath to lay at Fort Rosecrans Cemetery on Saturday, December 14, National Wreaths Across America Day.  This day honors  every single veteran who ever served to protect our freedoms.

Parking is limited so plan to car pool and arrive at 8:30 AM.  A formal ceremony will begin promptly at 9:00 AM and will last 30 minutes, after which we will lay wreaths.  There will be shuttles to the cemetery from Navy parking.

Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended; the event takes place regardless of the weather.

There are 110,000 graves at Rosecrans.  Last year, local volunteers raised enough funds to lay 3,000 wreaths.  To sponsor a wreath this year (every $15 equals 1 sponsored wreath) only takes a few minutes and a few clicks of the mouse.

Go to this web link to donate: http://waa.convio.net/site/TR/NationalWreathsAcrossAmericaDay/General?fr_id=1162&pg =team&team_id=3389#.UpU3eJTTns0

...then click on "Make a Gift!" on the right hand side under the thermometer and it will take you to the online ordering.
